BMW i8

The technology carrier of BMW tested by CPA

With the BMW i8, BMW presents the brands first plug-in hybrid in 2014. The futuristic designed sports car is powered by a 3-cylinder turbo and a 131 hp electric motor. Four-wheel drive ensures that the 570 NM are transmitted as evenly as possible to the road. The electric motor drives the front axle while the combustion engine acts on the rear axle. This is where the innovative chip tuning of the CPA PowerBox comes in. With the help of the enginespecific software, the performance of the combustion engine can be increased by up to 12% to up to 258 hp and 358 NM. The additional power noticeably improves acceleration and overall performance.
